You are okay!

I’m not going to say anything about the bikes, but car tires on the carpet seems like a truly bad decision.

Why?

Tires just seem very dirty and impossible to ever get fully clean IMO. Plus, while carpet is sort enough that it probably doesn’t matter, that rubber is marking if brush it against anything. Honestly, if you’re riding the bikes, I wouldn’t even put them directly on the carpet (I keep mine on a cheap yoga mat).

Get a Peugeot or a Motobecane and join the old French bike crew

You still have to pay for damage to those.

It can’t get much worse than it already is

Looks nicer than my dorm room. I don’t cut up CDs being used to seal off the mouse holes. Though the only thing I got charged for was a small missing table that I didn’t know was supposed to be there anyway. Wasn’t worth arguing over the $65 charge. I think we got hit for some communal space damage as well, though given what happened to those spaces it didn’t seem unreasonable.

The only time we get charged for communal damage is when some asshole leaves a garbage bag in the hallway. And don’t be fooled by that relatively clean corner, the only nice thing about it is the view. It was a shitty apartment when it was built in the 50s, and it hasn’t been updated ever since...

2011 Grand Record. Previously I had an old (40+ year old) Prince, but the frame was way too big for me, and it was a heavy bike. It was my dads old bike, I would ride it from time to time after getting the Motobecane, but I got home one day and it was gone...a little sad.

Speed is my friend, so newer and lighter. Carbon front forks, some little other carbon bits around, a few more things I need to get as well once I get my raise and more consistent monies in the next few weeks.

Very nice! I’ve got a 1983 Motobecane Grand Touring which I’m keeping stock, even if that means having a horrible seat and tinfoil rims.

Ive been shopping around for roof racks because I want to have my bike after work sometimes. Need to clear some stuff out of the car soon...

I saw a local guy with a red and silver Panasonic and Ive literally just been hooked since then though. I would consider an older Motobecane though, when I get the space for it.

My roommate and I just figured out that the Peugeot he just bought is from 1973! pretty crazy it’s 10 years older than my bike. And if you’re looking for old road bikes, be prepared to pay the hipster tax, especially if you’re buying it in NYC...

Theres a bike shop in my town that feeds on the hipster tax. Im more of a thrift shop/garage sale junkie when it comes to some items.

It’s real around here... I bought mine in Cleveland for $200; it easily would’ve been double that in Brooklyn.
